Electronics & Bottle Caps Recycling Event

2021-07-31 Recycling Day - Electronics - Flyer

The Rotary Club of Florence, Kentucky (serving all of Boone County) is excited to collaborate with multiple organizations to not only help our environment but help our schools by providing a recycling event for electronics and bottle caps on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10 am to 2 pm at Boone County High School located at 7056 Burlington Pike in Florence.

The club is partnering with I.T. Supply Solutions, Best Way Disposal, Boone County Waste Management, Boone County Schools to provide a convenient drop-off location for electronics to be safely and securely disposed at Boone County High School.  I.T. Supply Solutions is a premier, U.S. based IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Services Provider and Information Technology Hardware Reseller.  Funds raised from the event will be used to fund Rotary Club of Florence district grant initiatives.

One of those initiatives is to recycle and purchase two benches and materials to make a Free Little Library at Boone County High School.  Each bench requires 300 lbs of caps to be collected and costs $300 each.  RISE Academy students will be building and Boone County Public Library will be supply books for the Free Little Library.  Monetary donations can be made on the club’s website – www.florencerotary.org/recycle.

2021-07-31 Recycling Day - Caps - Flyer“This is truly a collaborative project that benefits our community, the earth and especially our students” states Julia Pile, Rotary Club of Florence President-Elect Designee and Boone County Schools Board Member.  “This is what makes living in Boone County and the Northern Kentucky region so special, when someone has an idea, you reach out and everyone is more than willing to jump in and be a part of the project and bring others along to help.”

“The idea for the event started when Mike Franxman of I.T. Supply Solutions visited the club to talk about the services their organization provides and their philosophy of giving back to the community. It was just a natural fit for our club to partner with them to provide an event where the community could recycle their electronics safely. To be able to tie the bottle caps recycling in with our district grant initiative just has taken this project to a whole new level” states club President Duane Froelicher.

Details regarding items which can be recycled can be found on the club’s website at:  www.florencerotary.org/recycle.  If a company would like to make a large donation, please contact I.T. Supply Solutions directly at 859-534-2323.  It is helpful if caps can be pre-weighed and in boxes marked with their weight prior to drop off.  The plastic recycled bench is part of Green Tree Plastics, ABC Promise Partnership Program.
